Roy Jones Jr Didn’t Hesitate When Asked If Anthony Joshua Can Ever Become World Champion Again
Former world champion Roy Jones Jr has been speaking on Anthony Joshua’s boxing future.
Joshua is a ex two-time heavyweight ruler himself, though is currently without any belts having lost his last fight
That was against Daniel Dubois for the IBF strap back in September. ‘AJ’ was put down twice before being stopped in the fifth round. The win saw form-man Dubois assert himself at the top of the division while it ended Joshua’s good run of four straight wins after back to back to loses to all-time great Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and 2022.
Speaking to Covers.com, Jones suggested Joshua would have fared better in recent fights had the pair world together in the gym.
“Of course things would have been different if I had the chance to work with [Joshua], but you can’t blame people for their opinion and the way they do things. I feel bad the way they thought about me working with him, I know what I could have helped him out with and how much I could have changed him but I can’t change what doesn’t want to be changed.”
