Carl Froch Sums Up Chris Eubank Jr Slapping Conor Benn With An Egg In Just 4 Words
Carl Froch has shared his view on the Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn press conference egging incident.
Eubank Jr and Benn met this week in Manchester for the launch press conference of their long-awaited battle, which takes place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 26
They were originally set to meet back in October 2022, before the fight fell through just days away from the event after Benn failed a drugs test.
Benn has claimed his innocence to this day, with one of the reasons stated for the possible failed test being the consumption of too many eggs. Eubank Jr clearly doesn’t agree with that assessment, and took it upon himself to smash an egg in Benn’s face during their face-off.
Former unified world champion Froch had many rivalries during his own career, the most notable being against George Groves, which culminated in a fight at Wembley Stadium where Froch knocked out Groves.

It means that ‘The Cobra’ knows first hand what it is like to have a bitter feud with an opponent, and he revealed on his Froch On Fighting YouTube channel how he’d have reacted if it had been him in Benn’s shoes.
“I’d have been fuming.”
Froch then explained the advice he may give Benn next time he sees him.
“He didn’t just get slapped round the face, he did it quite hard, he also got egged. When you get egged you’re fuming. I’d have been p**sed off. I’m going to give him advice. The first time with Groves I was fuming. You get in there and load up and make mistakes.
“You advertise your shots a little bit and make split second decisions where it’s wrong. You’ve got to be calmer. Boxing is all about discipline.
Eubank Jr and Benn are set to meet again at another press conference on Thursday, with added security expected to try and avoid a repeat of their face-off incident.
