After WBO order, Tyson Fury gives strong reaction as Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois in jeopardy after WBO order

Tyson Fury is delighted that Oleksandr Usyk has been ordered to face Joseph Parker over a Daniel Dubois undisputed fight.

Usyk was understood to be entering talks with British heavyweight Dubois over a huge clash for the undisputed titles next.

IBF title-holder Dubois was set to face Parker in a world title defence in February, but he was forced to withdraw after falling ill.

As a result, the New Zealander retained his WBO interim title and waited patiently in line for a shot instead at Usyk.

Usyk is hoping to have just a handful of fights before retiring from the sport, naming his two-fight plan as a clash with Dubois and a crossover bout with UFC superstar Alex Pereira.

Fury, a training partner of Parker, was absolutely delighted that he would receive the shot over Dubois.

He wrote on Instagram: “It’s about time as well, give Joe Parker his shot!”

He has been in fine fettle beating Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang on his way to the top.

Most recently, he wiped out short-notice replacement Martin Bakole in February, who was previously considered the most avoided in the division.

Many believe a first clash between Usyk and Parker has more merit right now.

That is because Dubois previously fought the Ukrainian in 2023 and was stopped failing to snatch his title.

But he was left furious after landing a controversial low blow which dropped Usyk, but the referee ruled it an illegal shot.

It is unclear what option Usyk will chose, given negotiations had already begun for a sequel with Dubois.

And former world champion Carl Froch was in total agreement with Fury.

“Parker deserves his shot. It was Dubois that pulled out of the Parker fight, and Parker had a good win over Bakole,” he said.

“I don’t give Parker much of a shot of beating Usyk. Look what Usyk’s done, he’s done Joshua twice and beat Fury twice so you can’t say Parker has a great deal of a chance.
