YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul has been on the hunt for his next opponent after beating heavyweight legend Mike Tyson in November.

He was expected to take a mega-fight with Canelo Alvarez but the bout collapsed earlier this year.

Paul recently called out former two-time heavyweight world champion Joshua, with the pair teasing a clash in 2026.

AJ would be an overwhelming favourite given his experience at heavyweight and achievements in his boxing career.

And his promoter Hearn has warned Paul that he could be endangering himself by pursuing a ring showdown.

He told talkSPORT.com: “Jake might be mad enough to do it.

“Because all Jake thinks about is the money, right? The money he will get for fighting AJ is obscene.

“But he doesn’t take into consideration the medical consequences that would come for a fight like that.

“There is potential that you may never see his head again after that fight.

“It would be removed from his neck. But he’s just thinking, 100 mil, that’s alright.

“You’ve got to be careful what you wish for to be honest with you.”

Joshua himself has yet to pencil in his next fight after losing to Daniel Dubois in brutal fashion last September.

This would mean he is currently available to enter negotiations for a fight with Paul, particularly given he isn’t held by the constraints of a world title belt.

Hearn has questioned why Paul isn’t open to the bout now, and insists it could materialise if the right offer is presented to Joshua.

He continued: “But he did say 2026.

“That’s a bit like saying I’m going to win gold in the surfing in the Olympics in 2028. You know what I mean? Why not now?

“If you want to fight AJ, you’re not going to get any better. But look, we’re in that position.

“When we had the World Heavyweight Championship and all that kind of stuff, if Jake Paul came out and said, fight us, obviously, we’d go, no, we’re trying to become undisputed.

“But if someone slung a load of money at AJ and said, go and spark Jake Paul, I’d be pushing him in it myself.

“It’s definitely not a fight that was on the radar for AJ. But in the mad world that we live in, I’d never say never.

Paul has big plans for the next year, which include the launch of his new documentary Paul American with brother Logan Paul this week.
