#$200M# Dana White Drops Bombshell Claim on Conor McGregor vs. Terence Crawford for $200M

It appears we͏ are on the verge of͏ witnessing another major crossover su͏perfight between MMA͏ and boxi͏ng, with Conor ͏McGr͏egor once again a͏t the fo͏r͏efro͏nt. This t͏ime, he may face rei͏gn͏ing fou͏r-d͏ivision ͏b͏oxing champion͏ Te͏rence͏ Crawford in a supe͏rfigh͏t reported͏ly being planned ͏by͏ T͏urki Alashikh. McGregor and Crawford were ori͏ginall͏y slated to ͏fight͏ in two bout͏s: one in boxing and the other in MMA. And acc͏or͏din͏g to repo͏r͏ts,͏ a͏ massive $200 million purs͏e had b͏e͏en set͏ f͏or͏ the fighte͏rs.

However, although Crawford initially ͏declined due to skepticism about co͏mpeting in MMA, citing, “Me and Conor got on the phone and started politicking to try and figure something out. Man, I’m not getting in no (expletive) Octagon with you so you can be kicking and elbowing me!” Nevertheless, days after refusing to step inside the Octagon, ‘Hunter’ has come forward to emphasize his fight with McGregor, Getting back on the mat! Ay, Conor, getting back on the mat! Stay tuned, baby! Stay tuned,” said Crawford on through social media.

Interestingly, Dana White was asked about endorsing this super fight in one of his conversations with ‘Outta Pocket with RGIII.’ The host asked the UFC CEO if would he promote the fight considering the fact that Conor McGregor’s in it. Dana White gave a single answer to this question, “No.”

The host reminded him about the fact that Crawford was a former wrestler, to which the UFC CEO said under no circumstances did he believe that it would be a wise decision for ”Hunter’ to step inside the Octagon, “He’s a smart guy too, saying, “I’m not fighting you in the octagon. You’re not kicking me in my legs,” and you know what I mean? He’s smart. He’s one of the greatest of all time in boxing. Stay in your lane, and he’s absolutely right in what he’s saying.

Conor McGregor‘s last boxing bout against Floyd Mayweather witnessed a very active participation from the UFC CEO but his second one may not have Dana White by his side. Regardless, as Crawford accepts the multi-million dollar fight, what’s ‘Mystic Mac’s reaction to it?

Conor McGregor reacts after Terence Crawford accepts the dual-way fight

As soon as Conor McGregor witnessed the Terrence Crawford video, he was immensely impressed by Crawford’s decision and he took to his Instagram handle to share it on his story. In the captions he stated that he has immense respect for the ‘Four Division-Champion’, “Is this you accepting the fights now, my brother Terrence! MMA is Saudi for Riyadh season. Followed then by a boxing bout!”

He further added, “Tremendous Terrence, well done. I ACCEPT! @turkialalshikh ITS ON BABY RIYADH SEASON WITH THE NEW BRUCE LEE, CONOR MAC G. And boxing’s pound for pound number 1 tremendous Terence C! JUST WOW!”  Hyping this up, Conor McGregor further stated that it would be an amazing clash, “What a spectacle! You’ve never seen these moves Turki. I am a master martial artist. I am the maestro. Let’s go. I will show.”

It must be noted that the conversation of their boxing match goes way back to 2020. Back in those days, Crawford emphasized that he would fight McGregor under the right circumstances, “They put that money up, hell yeah I’ll go over there and fight him.” Fast forwarding to 2024, hopefully, this is the right circumstance. With, both the fighters agreeing to fight each other, are we going to witness a class fight between them? State your thoughts in the comments below.

Oleksandr Usyk will defend his world heavyweight championship belts against Tyson Fury on 21 December after winning their first fight via split decision earlier this year.

Anthony Crolla has suggested that Tyson Fury’s corner needs to be ‘addressed’ ahead of his highly anticipated heavyweight rematch with Oleksandr Usyk later this year.

In May, the Ukrainian fighter made history by becoming the first fighter to defeat ‘The Gypsy King’ in a professional fight after the 37-year-old secured a split-decision victory in Riyadh. They will now face off again on 21 December.

Following their initial meeting, Fury’s corner, which includes his father, John, faced backlash after video footage revealed them advising Fury that he was leading and didn’t need to push for a stoppage. Ultimately, only one judge concurred, with the other two favouring Usyk.

Since then, there have been numerous calls for Tyson to replace his father ahead of the rematch. Peter Fury, who coached his nephew to his first world title win against Wladimir Klitschko in 2015, acknowledged that too many voices were in the corner after the fight.

In a conversation with Freebets.com, Crolla reflected on the first fight back in May and maintained that Fury is ‘very confident’ about the rematch. “He’s looking really well, he’s speaking really well, seems on it, very confident,” he stated.

“You never know with Tyson. He comes out with some mad stuff, but it genuinely looks like he is in a great place.

“I’m really looking forward to it. Another tough one, but he more or less had the fight won last time at the halfway stage.

“I think he’ll target Usyk’s body a bit more this time. He’s got a great chance of putting it right, but Usyk finds a way to win; his adaptability is unbelievable.

“After the first fight, I’d put Usyk as favourite but wouldn’t be surprised if Tyson avenges it.”

Discussing potential changes Fury might implement for the rematch, Crolla mentioned that Fury’s corner could use some adjustments. “A few adjustments to make,” he said. “(Tyson) got a lot of stick last time, but I don’t know how much it affects Tyson because he is that kind of character; I think he does a lot of thinking for himself.”

“The corner certainly needs addressing; I’m a big believer of one voice in the corner, one clear voice, so we’ll see, but they’ll be the kinds of adjustments he’ll make.”

tyson fury

Despite this, earlier in the month, the 36-year-old boxer maintained that no significant changes would be made for the rematch. In a conversation with Paul Dempsey before the release of the new boxing game, ‘Undisputed’, Fury was asked how long he was spending on tactical planning for his second bout with Usyk.

“Not much time,” he responded. “I know what I’ve got to do, nothing drastic. People can say, ‘I want to change trainers, or I’ll blame it on my conditioning coach, or I’ll blame it on the cook, or I’ll blame it on the mouse next door.’ Same team, same everything. I know what I’ve got to do.”

He further commented: “I thought I won the fight last time. I gave him – me boxing all my life and watching boxing my whole career – I gave him rounds eight, nine and ten, and round nine was a 10-8.

“So that’s what I gave him out of the fight, but obviously, the judges saw it a bit differently; a couple of them did. One of them had me winning. That’s what it was. It was as close as it can be.”

“It Might Be Hard to Come Back”: Terence Crawford, Caleb Plant, and Others Console Tim Tszyu After Devastating Loss to Bakhram Murtazaliev.

Tim Tszyu had a night that he would like to erase from his memories and record. The Australian fighter had a chance to reclaim a title and reclaim a top spot in the light middleweight division. But he ended up being outclassed, outpunched, and outmuscled by Bakhram Murtazaliev.

Murtazaliev not only defended his IBF title but also secured a devastating win, as he picked up a third-round technical knockout win. The challenger, despite being the heavy favorite, never looked settled, as he took a knee four times at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando and dropped his second consecutive fight of the year.

Bakhram Murtazaliev proves his mantle against Tim Tszyu

The first hit on Tszyu came in the second round, where his leaky defense again put him in trouble and ate a left hook. Instead of trying to recover and go into a shell, he launched a counterattack. That strategy failed, as he took another left and at once went down. He took a tumble in the dying seconds of the second round, again. Tszyu’s agony was cut short in the third round, as his corner threw in the towel.

After the loss, Tim Tszyu admitted his loss and gave no excuses. He said, “The better man won tonight. No excuses. I tried my best. Boxing is not meant to be perfect. I think it was after the first shot. Things didn’t go according to plan. He’s the man at 154. He’s the champ.” Tszyu’s loss has shaken up the boxing landscape and had pros and fans taking to their social media accounts, to express their candid opinion.

Terence Crawford and pros wish for Tszyu’s speedy recovery

Caleb Plant lauded Tim Tszyu for fighting on despite the knockdowns and accepting his mistakes after the loss. He wrote, “Good man. No excuses. Real good fighter. Rest up, regroup and we’ll see you again soon @Tim_Tszyu is great for the sport and even better guy.” With another loss on the trout, Tszyu might take a break from boxing and recover from the cut that he sustained in his fight against Fundora in March and then get his confidence back.

Terence Crawford asked not to trust the fans and lauded Murtazaliev for his credentials despite not being a popular face. He declared, “This why you can’t listen to these fans. They don’t know boxing at all. Just because you never heard of a fighter doesn’t mean he’s a bum. Now everyone is high on Murtazaliev. Yall need to stop downing fighters just because yall don’t pay attention to them.” Notably, Bakhram Murtazaliev held a record of 22-0 before his fight with Tim Tszyu and defeated Jack Culcay with a comprehensive victory to win the IBF crown.

George Kambosos Jr. had a similar take as he asked for respect for fighters coming from not-so-mainstream countries. He announced, “This game ain’t easy, I hope Tim is physically ok, he’s always been a good kid, mainstream media wake up, maybe learn your lessons and stop writing bull**it every second of the day, blowing to much smoke, there’s other great fighters in the country too, god bless everyone 👏🏻.” His remark particularly referred to how in the build-up to the fight, many fans had Murtazaliev as an underdog despite being the champion and boasting an undefeated record

Andre Berto took a jibe at Tim Tszyu’s father, boxing veteran Kotsya Tszyu, and believed his recovery would take a long time. He said, “Sh-t looked like a set up… And his father finally made it over to watch his son fight in person smh. Those are the type of shots that it might be hard to come back from… That was wild 🤦🏾‍♂️.” Tszyu, like his father, became a world champion. But with consecutive losses on a trot, he might have a long way ahead to replicate his father’s legacy.

“Joshua or Not” – Warren on Daniel Dubois’ Next Opponent

Frank Warren, promoter of IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois, shared his thoughts on who could be the next opponent for the English boxer.

Quote: “Daniel will fight next year, early in the year. We’re currently looking at several options. I hope to announce by next week who he’ll be fighting. But he will defend his title, and we’ll see who that opponent will be.

It could be Joshua, or it might not be. It all depends on the circumstances. He’s definitely going to face someone, that’s for sure, and he’ll build on what he achieved in that fight,” Warren told TalkSport.

Reminder: The first bout between Dubois and Joshua took place on September 21. AJ was considered the favorite going into the fight but was punished by his opponent. Joshua was knocked down multiple times before ultimately being knocked out in the fifth round.

Additionally, Turki Alalshikh recently announced the date for the rematch between Dubois and Joshua.

“I want to finish him off.” Dubois expressed his desire for a rematch with Usyk

IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois has expressed his desire for a rematch against WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBO champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Quote: “We’ve got unfinished business. I want to get it right. I want to do it properly and finish him off. It would be a great unification fight. It would be massive,” Dubois told Box Nation.

Reminder: In August 2023, Oleksandr Usyk knocked out Dubois in the 9th round.

Dubois is eligible for a voluntary title defense until April 22. He can choose any opponent from the top 15 of the federation’s rankings for his next bout.

Among the most likely contenders is his former opponent, Anthony Joshua, who currently ranks eighth in the standings.

Incidentally, Turki Alalshikh recently announced the date for the Dubois-Joshua rematch.

“This Is How You Get Hurt” Deontay Wilder Didn’t Hesitate To Name Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul Winner.

Mike Tyson is set to return to professional boxing for the first time in nearly twenty years when he takes on YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

The former heavyweight champion, who is now 58-years-old, had to postpone the original fight date due to an ulcer flare-up, but says he is now in great shape and vows to end Paul’s boxing career.

Many fighters have raised concerns about ‘Iron’ Mike taking on a man over thirty years his junior. One of those doubters is former WBC heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder. When asked about the contest, Wilder shared his worries for Tyson and gave him little chance of getting the victory

“I think it’s bad the commission has licensed Mike Tyson because he hasn’t been active in 20 years, so they should not just licence him because of who he is, that’s how people get hurt, god forbid he gets hurt. People can get hit in the wrong place and at the wrong time, there’s lots of examples where guys have been hit into a coma. It’s easy to do. He’s too old for this.

At the end of the day, no one gives a f*** about Mike. We can talk about the pros and cons, but at the end of the day, they don’t give a f***. I don’t think anyone cares about Mike because if they did they wouldn’t sanction the fight.

They may say they’ve done tests and all that, ok, but as long as you’re willing to suffer the consequences if something bad goes wrong. His power may not have left completely but you still need to set it up, your stamina needs to be a certain way, or it’s going to look like a clown show.”

Paul vs Tyson takes place on November 15 at the AT&T stadium in Texas and will be streamed live on Netflix as part of a standard subscription.

‘No. 1 priority’ – Eddie Hearn : Anthony Joshua v Deontay Wilder a ‘fascinating fight now’, but Daniel Dubois rematch ‘No. 1 priority’ – Eddie Hearn

Promoter Eddie Hearn has dismissed any potential fight between Anthony Joshua and either of Joseph Parker or Dillian Whyte. ‘AJ’ is on the lookout for his next challenge after being stopped by Daniel Dubois at the weekend. The London 2012 gold medal winner has talked up a potential rematch with his fellow Brit, and Hearn says that taking on Dubois again is his “No. 1 priority.”

Eddie Hearn insists Anthony Joshua’s “No. 1 priority” is a rematch with Daniel Dubois, despite the possibility of a high-profile clash with Deontay Wilder or Joe Joyce.
The 2012 Olympic gold medal winner suffered a fifth-round knockout when he faced Dubois in front of a record crowd at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night.
It was the fourth defeat of Joshua’s career, and has some questioning how long he has left in the sport.
The two-time heavyweight champion of the world has been linked with a number of potential opponents.
Promoter Hearn, who heads up Matchroom, has ruled out contests with Joseph Parker and Moses Itauma, while stating bouts with Joe Joyce and Dillian Whyte are “unlikely.”
And Hearn says that is because Joshua only has one thing on his mind.
“I said to him yesterday, who knows, you’ve got between maybe one and three fights left,” he told Boxing News.
“The phone went a bit quiet when I said that to him, but that’s the realisation of where we’re at in his career. It will just be the biggest fights possible.
“I don’t rule out [Deontay] Wilder or [Joe] Joyce, but I think AJ’s going to want the biggest. He’s a fighter. His No. 1 priority is to rematch Daniel Dubois.”
The American, now 38-years-old, has lost four of his 48 career fights. Each of those defeats have come in his last five bouts, though, including twice to Tyson Fury.
Wilder also suffered a fifth round stoppage against Zhilei Zhang in June, but a clash with Joshua interests Hearn.
“That’s a fight that, prior to Saturday, I thought would never happen,” he added. “But I certainly think it’s a fascinating fight now, and one that people would definitely tune in to.”

Terence Crawford Didn’t Hesitate When Asked If He Is Now Interested In A Jaron Ennis Fight

Terence Crawford has a long line of contenders looking for a fight, not least Jaron Ennis.

The 27-year-old from Philadelphia became welterweight world champion after Crawford vacated the belts and moved up a division. Still intent on the challenge, ‘Boots’ Ennis has said he is willing to join him at super-welterweight

In a feature with The Ring Magazine, Crawford didn’t blame the younger man for calling him out, but said he gained nothing from answering.

“They’re doing the right thing calling me out. I definitely get it. But I had to work so hard to get the [big] fights I got. They ain’t done half of what I did to get to me. You want me to backtrack and forget the biggest fight in boxing – me and Canelo – to fight Boots or Vergil? What am I gaining from that?”

The four-weight world champion then compared the current Ennis situation to when he wanted to face Manny Pacquiao.

“This is like when I wanted to fight Pacquiao. I had everything to gain. I’d won multiple world titles by then and been Fighter of the Year. My record was night and day different when compared with Boots and Vergil and me and Pacquiao.

“Pacquiao was at the age where he couldn’t afford to take another loss, so fighting a guy like Terence Crawford at that point of his career wasn’t smart. I couldn’t get a Pacquiao fight even though I had multiple accomplishments, but everybody else could. I was bitter at the time, but it was a business decision. I understand now.”

Terence Crawford seems to be waiting it out for Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez to respond to an offer before deciding what his next move will be. As for ‘Boots’, he defends his IBF belt against Karen Chukhadzhian – the man he beat for the interim belt last year – on November 9.

Derek Chisora Didn’t Hesitate When Asked If Anthony Joshua Should Go Straight Into Dubois Rematch

Daniel Dubois shocked the world when he stopped Anthony Joshua to retain his IBF heavyweight title.

Although the champion going into the contest, ‘DDD’ was a heavy underdog before the first bell rang. But the 27-year-old dominated the action from the get-go and landed an thunderous right hand with seconds remaining of the first round to send AJ to the canvas.

Anthony Joshua got back to his feet but never fully recovered and was knocked down a further two times before Dubois landed the final right hand in the fifth to close the show.

Attention now turns to what Joshua will do next with fans and pundits debating whether the former two-time champion should go straight into a rematch with his fellow Brit.

One man who is sure what AJ should do is veteran heavyweight Derek Chisora.

Chisora told ‘The Stomping Ground‘ that Joshua should jump straight into the rematch,

“Mate he should jump on the rematch straight away, why not?

Listen, shout out to Daniel Dubois the new champion and the new crowned king of the United Kingdom but he [AJ] should jump on it bro, what else is he going to do, who else is he going to fight? Deontay Wilder? And then another person, and then go back and face Daniel Dubois, no, he should go back to the rematch.

Although there doesn’t appear to be a contractual rematch clause, Joshua has one more fight on his Riyadh Season deal and both Turki Alalshikh and Dubois himself are keen to make it happen again.

The Rematch between IBF world heavyweight, Joshua vs. Dubois’s rematch date confirmed

The rematch between IBF world heavyweight boxing champion Daniel Dubois and former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua appears closer, with Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, revealing February as a tentative date, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Alalshikh confirmed this while speaking after the Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol press conference on Saturday night.

The chairman of the General Entertainment Authority that stages the Riyadh Season events revealed that a major fight card was being put together that will pit rival promoters Queensberry and Matchroom against each other.

“See in February again Queensberry against Matchroom, 5 vs. 5, we will finish it maybe this week with a big surprise, and then let’s see the result about this fight, the result of the big fight December 21, [Oleksandr] Usyk-Tyson [Fury],” Alalshikh told Sky Sports.

“Joshua, Dubois, Tyson, Usyk, everyone, everyone on the line.

“This is what we want. We want the big fights and to see who’s really the best fighter in each division.”

Last month, Joshua’s bid to become a three-time world champion and return to the division’s top table ended dramatically and unexpectedly, with Dubois dropping him several times at Wembley Stadium in front of 98,000 fans before he landed the final blow, a crunching right-hand, in Round 5 that left Joshua sprawling on the canvas for a fourth career loss.

The defeat sent shockwaves through the boxing world, with some pundits questioning Joshua’s future in the sport.

Reacting to talks about his future, Joshua vowed to continue boxing, with his promoter confirming that the Middle Eastern kingdom will stage the rematch as part of the Riyadh Season, a festival of entertainment and sports events that runs from October to early March.

Queen’s Frank Warren, Dubois’ promoter, welcomed the prospect of a rematch.

“It’s all about styles, but also with AJ, you’ve got to put him on the back foot, and that’s what he did,” Warren told Sky Sports.

“He put him on the back foot. That first jab he threw snapped his head back, and that set the pattern of the fight. I think it was the fourth round; he caught Daniel with an uppercut; that was his most significant punch.

“But  you want AJ to trade with you, because if he trades, he’s vulnerable. Once he throws that punch, you can catch him on the counter, and that’s what he did.”

Daniel Dubois

Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn, who promotes Joshua, when previously discussing the rematch between the two heavyweights said, “I think it would be part of Riyadh Season in Riyadh. Riyadh Season runs from October to the end of February and early March.

“So anything within that period takes place in Riyadh. So yeah, it would be part of the Riyadh Season if it were to happen.”
