WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson Defies Terence Crawford’s Controversial Hall of Famer Take On Errol Spence Jr.

WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson and two-weight undisputed champion Terence Crawford have been long-time friends. They are often seen supporting each other in and outside the ring. However, there’s one thing the brothers from different mothers can’t seem to agree on. What? The whole Errol Spence Jr. Hall of Fame drama Crawford kicked off a few days ago!

In case you had given up boxing for the past few days, Crawford appeared in the Pound 4 Pound with Kamaru Usman & Henry Cejudo Podcast, where he made some controversial comments about his former rival ‘The Truth.’ According to ‘Bud,’ Spence Jr. doesn’t stand a chance of getting inducted in the Boxing Hall of Fame with the accolades he currently possesses.

He justified his claims by suggesting that Spence only fought in one division. While Crawford acknowledged Spence’s accomplishment of unifying the IBF, WBC, and WBA welterweight belts and a handful of fights against elites of the division, Crawford claimed it wasn’t enough to get him into the BHOF. The pair fought back on July 29, 2023, when Crawford defeated Spence in a one-sided performance to become the undisputed welterweight champion.

Regardless, this started a whirlwind of backlash on social media. Fans and experts in the boxing community joined forces to disagree with Crawford’s statement while cementing Spence’s claim to the BHOF. While Spence Jr. is yet to comment on the matter, Shakur Stevenson has shared his perspective on whether Spence Jr. deserves a spot in the BHOF.

When reminded about Crawford’s comments during a recent interview with Best Women’s Boxing Show, Stevenson said, “I disagree.” He explained his point of view, stating, “I feel as though Errol had a great career. If it wasn’t for Bud, he would’ve been undisputed. So he went and got every belt one by one by one. I think he’s a hall of famer.”

The Hall of Fame drama aside, fans may finally get to see Errol Spence Jr. back in action.

Oscar De La Hoya wants Errol Spence Jr. to fight this boxer

Oscar De La Hoya believes Vergil Ortiz Jr. is ready for a major step up in his career and wants Errol Spence Jr. to fight him. Ortiz, who remains undefeated, has proven his ability at the top level, most recently overcoming Serhii Bohachuk and Israil Madrimov. De La Hoya sees a bright future for Ortiz, stating, “There’s a lot of options out there for Vergil. I’m excited.”

One fight that De La Hoya has in mind is a Texas showdown between Ortiz and Spence, which he believes would be huge both financially and for the sport. “Imagine if we can put together a [Errol] Spence vs. Vergil fight in Dallas stadium,” De La Hoya said. While Spence has been sidelined since his loss to Terence Crawford, De La Hoya is still hopeful, adding, “That’s something to consider.”

Terence Crawford

That said, it appears absolutely no one agrees with Terence Crawford about his perspective on Errol Spence Jr.’s place in the Boxing Hall of Fame. Even his long-time friend and one of his biggest supporters, Shakur Stevenson, can’t bring himself to agree with Crawford. Do you agree with Stevenson or Crawford?

“Bad Technique Breaks”- Coco Gauff Comes Under Scrutiny as Serena Williams’ Ex-Coach Highlights a Career-Long Concern

Coco Gauff and double faults go hand in hand. And the statistics speak volumes. Last year’s staggering 430 double faults in 71 outings – an average of over six per match – stood as the most among the Top 50 WTA players in the PIF Rankings. And the new season has offered little respite. Her first loss of the year at the Australian Open QFs saw her record 41 unforced errors, including 28 missed forehands and six double-faults. Then came the Indian Wells opener, where a staggering 21 double faults against Moyuka Uchijima signaled that technical adjustments were falling short. The Miami Open brought further disappointment, with 12 double faults marring her match against Magda Linette. As this pattern persists, the pressure mounts. With Serena Williams’ former coach voicing how Gauff’s DF’s can “be a problem for her going forward forever.”

On the latest episode of The Rennae Stubbs Tennis podcast, dated March 31, 2025, Andrea Petkovic joined Stubbs to recap an eventful Sunshine Double. The topics of discussion ranged from the uncertainty surrounding the future of men’s tennis, where established figures are fading and newcomers struggle for consistency to Aryna Sabalenka and the women’s game stepping into the spotlight. Coco Gauff, the 2023 US Open champ’s Indian Wells and Miami Open campaign, was sure to come to the forefront of the discussion. “Her grip is wrong,” Stubbs admitted firmly before dissecting the deeper mechanics of the flaw.

I think her elbow gets super low and sort of so close to her body. The left arm jumps down,” she continued.

In a bid to fix it, the 2023 US Open champion took a bold step. Ahead of the 2024 China Open, she appointed coach Matt Daly. And it was an instant success, as she won her eighth career title, first in nine months. “I think it was just time to do a reset, a refresh, and add some things in my game that I felt like I need to do to have a better season next year,” Gauff said after winning the title. But reality struck hard just 10 days later at the Wuhan Open.

In the semifinal match against Aryna Sabalenka, she delivered a staggering 21 double faults, the most of any player in any match on tour last year. Then came WTA Finals, where although she lifted the trophy, her serve faltered again. Gauff committed 11 double faults in her match against Iga Swiatek in the Group Stage. “You can’t change the past. I’m in the process of changing things. There’s going to be good days and bad days,” she admitted afterwards, trying to keep faith in her abilities.

Further in the conversation, Stubbs echoed Billie Jean King’s wisdom, saying: “Bad technique breaks down under pressure.” Yet, amid the concern, Stubbs offered a glimmer of hope: clay courts might be Gauff’s saving grace as “she doesn’t need to go for the big bomb on the first serve because her ability on the baseline is so good.”

For Gauff, her clay court record is quite impressive. Her most significant achievement on this surface came in 2022 when she reached the Roland Garros finals. Despite her loss against Swiatek, her performance proved her to be one of the players with potential on the clay surface. Therefore, Stubbs’ prediction might come true, but for that, Gauff seriously needs to reconsider her serve and her grip.

Well, the cloud of continuous double fault errors has disappointed Coco Gauff as well. But there is a silver lining.

Coco Gauff mentioned about “trying to figure” out her shortcomings

After exiting the 2025 Miami Open following a straight set loss against Magda Linette by 4-6 and 4-6, Gauff laid bare her feelings. “It wasn’t great today. It hasn’t been the last few weeks — I’m trying to figure that out. Definitely not happy about it… just one of those days when I felt awful in everything on the court,” she exclaimed. However, shortly after, she found a way to cope with her disappointment.

would say that the first night I was like still thinking about the things that went on in that match. You know, I felt like it was decided by a couple of points. And then after that, I flew home and then what did I do? Oh, I took off like four days; four-five days. My boyfriend came to town so I hung out with him,” Coco revealed.

Pior to her loss in the 2025 Miami Open, Gauff managed to retain her confidence. Although she was criticized for consecutive losses in Dubai and Doha, the 2023 US Open champion said, “I don’t know, everybody makes a bigger deal than what it is… I lost two matches. I’ll lose more matches back to back, it’s going to happen.”

Coco gauff

Coco Gauff’s next run in the 2025 Stuttgart Open brings a lot of hope for her fans and probably herself. They believe this platform might help Gauff diagnose her issues and offer her a chance to prepare for the clay-court Grand Slams. Do you think the WTA star can keep up with her fans’ expectations?

DEONTAY WILDER had secret shoulder surgery before announcing his boxing return – with the hopes of reviving a fight with Anthony Joshua.

Deontay Wilder was twice lined up to face AJ by Saudi boxing supremo Turki Alsheikh – but the American was beaten before both occasions.

The former WBC champion lost on points to Joseph Parker in December 2023 and then knocked out by Zhilei Zhang last June.

But what Wilder did not know was he had a severely busted right shoulder – which he went under the knife to fix four months ago.

His manager Shelly Finkel told SunSport: “It may have been there with the Parker fight, but it was before the Zhang fight.

“Not making excuses for the result, but it’s just the reality he had it.

“And when the doctor pressed down on his wrist and said extend your arm and push down, he said it’s amazing you could hold your arm up and fight at all.

“He’s been now working out and his flexibility is back and he’s punching harder than ever.”

Wilder, 39, now returns on June 27 against Tyrrell Herndon, 37, who has a 24-5 record with three wins on the bounce.

The Bronze Bomber had a period of radio silence after his loss in Riyadh to Zhang, 41, but retirement was never even a whisper.

Finkel revealed: “No, he never wanted to call it a day because he never wanted his career to end the way that was.”

Wilder plans to also fight around September time before teeing himself up for a blockbuster around Christmas or New Year.

And his camp refuse to give up on the overdue clash with AJ – who was knocked out by Daniel Dubois in September and has not yet returned.

Finkel said: “It would be a big, big fight still. Maybe not quite as big as it was, you know, five years ago, but it’s still enormous.

Ex-UFC champ Francis Ngannou – who lost to Tyson Fury and Joshua – was also a name in discussions to face Wilder.

Deontay wilder

But Finkel said: “It’s just timing wasn’t right on any of them and that could still be a major fight in the lead up to Joshua.

“Or Deontay fights again this year after June and goes right into Joshua for the end of the year or next year.

Anthony Joshua advised to draw Tyson Fury back into the ring to make one key career move if he beats Joseph Parker.

That is the view of the talkBOXING team who have weighed in on AJ’s comeback fight this year, and who could be the potential opponents.

Joshua was brutally beaten by Daniel Dubois last year, but called out Fury for a huge all-British clash.

But the ‘Gypsy King’ announced his retirement from the sport, leaving Joshua out in the cold for now.

Several alternative options remain on the table which could include a sequel with Parker for a WBO interim title or a full world title.

Joshua beat the New Zealander in 2018 and a big win again could see him re-entered into the world title mix.

And talkBOXING hosts Simon Jordan, Ade Oladipo and Spencer Oliver believe that would be enough for Fury to consider lacing up the gloves again.

On the latest episode, Jordan proposed: “If AJ were to beat Parker for the WBO belt and it manifested itself that way, Fury comes out of retirement doesn’t he?”

READ MORE : Under no illusionTyson Fury and Anthony Joshua would have got ‘bashed to bits’ …

Oladipo replied: “100 per cent. And then we all get behind it.

“AJ vs Fury gets made today, it’s the biggest fight in British boxing, I still put that on it.

“But if AJ were to win a big one, everyone then gets behind it and it does record-breaking numbers.”

Oliver then responded: “I think it brings Fury out of retirement quicker than before.

“I think we will see him in the ring again I really do, I think he just needed a bit of time away.”

But he is expected to target the biggest commercial fight available upon his return.

Fury is currently not entertaining talks of a fight with Joshua publicly, and is focusing on other exploits including a manager role at charity football match Soccer Aid.

And his co-promoter Bob Arum believes it is best that Fury stays retired and doesn’t reconsider a clash with Joshua.

“No Doubt”: Frank Bruno Makes Emphatic Prediction For Oleksandr Usyk vs Prime Lennox Lewis

British heavyweight legend Frank Bruno has had his say on a fantasy showdown between Oleksandr Usyk and Lennox Lewis.

Oleksandr Usyk and Lewis remain two of the few fighters in the history of boxing to have held the undisputed heavyweight championship during their respective careers

The Lion’ captured the undisputed championship when he defeated Evander Holyfield in their highly anticipated rematch back in 1999, after they fought to a split draw in March of the same year. Lewis outpointed ‘The Real Deal’ over 12-rounds, winning via unanimous decision to add the WBA and IBF titles to his WBC crown.

Usyk become the first fighter in boxing history to claim the first undisputed heavyweight championship of the ‘four belt era’ when he defeated Tyson Fury in May 2024, becoming the first man to beat ‘The Gypsy King’. The Ukrainian icon repeated this feat in their rematch 7-months later, cementing himself as arguably the greatest heavyweight of his generation.

In an interview with iFL TV, Bruno talked down Usyk’s chances against ‘The Lion’, who he lost to by KO back in 1993, claiming he would not have been as successful during that great heavyweight era of the 1990’s.

“I don’t think in my era he would have got this far. In his era, he’s done very well. I’m not being b****y when I say that, I’m only talking from the heart. He wouldn’t have stood [a chance with the likes of Lennox Lewis]. They’re too big heavyweights for him, naturally big guys, you know.”

Usyk is now said to be considering his future in the sport, although the 38-year-old looks set to fight on as he targets a potential rematch against IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois, who he defeated 2-years ago in a controversial showdown.

“He’ll 100% End Your Career”: Amir Khan Urges One Fighter To Stop Calling Out Anthony Joshua

Amir Khan has sent a warning out to one particular fighter who continues to call out Anthony Joshua.

Anthony Joshua was last in action in September when he suffered a knockout defeat to Daniel Dubois, denying him the chance to become a three-time heavyweight champion and leaving him pondering his next move

It was believed that a long-awaited showdown with Tyson Fury could come next, but any hope of seeing that has been ruled out for now due to Fury abruptly announcing his retirement in January.

Boxing fans are now wondering who ‘AJ’ will potentially fight next, with a shock option presenting itself to the former unified heavyweight champion over the past week.

That is due to Youtuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul making the surprise move to call out Joshua, claiming that the Brit doesn’t have a chin and doesn’t have any skills. ‘AJ’ responded positively, saying the fight could take place in 2026. His promoter, Eddie Hearn, also said they would take the match-up.

Another man that was linked to a fight with Paul at one stage was former unified super-lightweight champion Khan, who retired from the sport back in 2022 following his defeat to domestic rival Kell Brook.

Khan has now spoken out about Paul wanting a fight with Joshua, telling Carl Froch on his Froch On Fighting YouTube Channel that it would be a major mistake by ‘The Problem Child.’

READ MORE : Under no illusionTyson Fury and Anthony Joshua would have got ‘bashed to bits’ …

“What a mismatch that is. Joshua will kill him. Jake Paul will never look at boxing and will never want to fight again. It would be the end of even his YouTube career in my opinion, after a shot like that with that one two, the end of his life as well, 100%.”

Froch himself also weighed in on a potential Joshua vs. Paul fight, agreeing that it could be ‘game over’ for the internet sensation.

While it may happen down the line, the former heavyweight champion has unfinished business in the division and is expected to return in late summer on the traditional side of the sport

‘I would love to share the ring with her’ Lauren Price answers Claressa Shields’ ‘eat a hamburger’ call-out

Claressa Shields is currently women’s boxing’s undisputed heavyweight champion and Lauren Price is the unified WBC, WBA and IBF welterweight titlist; they might be far apart in weight now but both are middleweight Olympic gold medallists and want to meet in a major professional fight

Britain’s Lauren Price and American star Claressa Shields are far apart in weight currently, but both are eyeing a future super-fight.

Shields, previously an undisputed champion at super-welter and middleweight, is women’s boxing’s undisputed heavyweight champion.

Price at present is the unified WBC, WBA and IBF welterweight world champion with her sights set on an undisputed title clash with WBO belt-holder Mikaela Mayer.

But both Price and Shields are middleweight Olympic gold medallists, twice over in the American’s case, and both would relish a collision as professional boxers.

“Definitely,” Price told Sky Sports News. “My full focus is on 147lbs at the minute and becoming undisputed but definitely a fight down the line.

“I would love to share the ring with her, obviously Olympic champion as well. Double Olympic champion, I’m Olympic champion, it’s a great fight to make. Definitely.”

Shields called Price out. “I want to fight everybody,” she told Sky Sports. “We have some new blood on the scene. I’ve seen Lauren Price fight. I was like wow, pretty impressive. Pretty impressive.
“[154lbs] is the lowest I can get. If she wants to fight at 160lbs too, don’t be afraid to get a hamburger and come on up.”
‘We can prove who’s the best Olympic champion’

Shields previously told Sky Sports: “It’s hard to put anything past Olympic champions. She won the Olympics 2021.

“I feel like when you’ve been all over the world and you’ve boxed and you’ve won world championships, it’s kind of destined for you to be great in the pros. I wish her the best of luck.

Claressa shields

“She won the Olympics at 165lbs (75kgs) just as I did – two times – and if she ever wants to fight I would love to fight against her too,” Shields added.

“I believe anything is possible and I really want to fight anybody that wants to fight me. So if Lauren Price keeps winning and comes to 154lbs, 160, 168, we can fight and prove who’s the best Olympic champion.”

Podcaster Don’t Call Me White Girl Sparks Beef With Boxer Claressa Shields In Messy Rant

Clareesa Shields has been feuding with women in and out of the ring to become the greatest woman of all-time.

Popular podcaster Don’t Call Me White Girl defends light skin women after undisputed boxing champ Claressa Shileds said that those were the type of people that hate on her the most. Taking offense, the podcaster slammed the boxer in the latest episode of her podcast, calling the boxer “a f*cking mess.” “This is the beginning, middle, and the end, Claressa Shields, you are a f*cking mess,” said DCMWG. “I don’t give a f*ck where you go, what you wear … It’s nothing sexy about that b*tch. You need a cot damn stylist.”

The podcaster’s remarks follow the GWOAT herself, who was at the center of a public firestorm in late 2024. She was accused of having an affair with rapper Papoose. The controversy erupted when Remy Ma, Papoose’s wife, took to Instagram on December 11 to share alleged text exchanges between her husband and Shields. The messages, which suggested an intimate bond, showed Shields expressing concern for Papoose’s well-being, prompting Remy Ma to question the nature of their connection.

Papoose swiftly denied the allegations, dismissing Remy Ma’s claims as baseless. He went on to accuse her of repeated infidelity, calling her a “narcissist” and revealing that he had previously sought a divorce. The dispute, already a spectacle, escalated further when Shields decided to respond in a manner befitting a world champion—by challenging Remy Ma to a boxing match. She proposed a showdown on February 2, a challenge that quickly gained traction online. The feud even caught the attention of 50 Cent, who added his voice to the growing conversation.

As tensions flared, Shields made another accusation, alleging that Remy Ma had leaked her personal phone number. In a candid conversation with Jemele Hill on December 19, Shields expressed her frustration, vowing to confront the rapper over the alleged violation of her privacy. What started as a personal dispute quickly became a headline-grabbing saga, drawing attention far beyond the hip-hop and boxing communities. Shields, known for her dominance in the ring, now found herself battling public scrutiny. The entanglement between Shields, Remy Ma, and Papoose underscored the chaos that can unfold when private matters are thrust into the public eye, reminding audiences of the ever-blurring line between celebrity and personal life.

Legacy Reloaded : Deontay Wilder’s Return: What To Know About His Next Opponent

Deontay Wilder is returning to the ring. The 39-year-old slugger with a record of 43-4-1 with 42 KOs is set to headline a Global Combat Collective event called Legacy Reloaded.

Wilder will face Tyrrell Herndon on Friday, June 27, 2025, at the Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas.

The event will be streamed live on BLK Prime. Here’s everything you need to know about Herndon.

Experience

Over his 10-year professional career, Herndon has fought 29 bouts, accumulating 100 rounds of ring time, though mostly against lower-tier opponents.

Professional Record

Herndon has a professional boxing record of 24-5 with 15 knockouts.

Age and Background

Herndon is 37 years old and hails from San Antonio, Texas. Many of his pro fights have taken place in his home state.

Physical Traits

Herndon is 6’3”, so the 6’7″ Wilder will have a massive height advantage.

Last Fight

Herndon is on a three-fight win streak. In his last fight, he knocked off Rudy Silvas by split decision in May 2024. When he steps in the ring with Wilder, he’ll have been out of the ring for more than a year.

Notable Losses

Herndon has been a bit of a gatekeeper for upcoming talent. He was knocked out by Olympic silver medalist Richard Torrez Jr. in October 2023, and he suffered an 89-second KO loss to Efe Ajagba in 2017.

This is a Dream Fight for Herndon

In a 2019 Instagram post, Herndon wrote, “Manifesting. Idols become rivals eventually…” alongside a photo with Wilder.

As a justifiably massive underdog, Herndon may rue the day he wished for this fight to go from dream to reality.

Deontay Wilder Has a Lot on the Line in this Fight

Even with Wilder’s seemingly depleted state, most would expect him to get past Herndon. The veteran is simply being placed here as an opponent who gives Wilder an opportunity to shine.

If he wins as expected, he’ll have a highlight-reel KO on his recent résumé, which could potentially facilitate a fight with Anthony Joshua—or more likely, a clash with current Professional Fighters League Super Fights MMA heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.

Deontay Wilder and Ngannou have expressed a desire to fight each other in the past, and the fight has never made more sense than it does now. Ngannou had two unsuccessful dips into the sweet science when he narrowly lost a split decision to Tyson Fury in late 2023, and he was savagely knocked out by Joshua in 2024.

Meanwhile, Wilder has endured back-to-back losses to Zhilei Zhang and Joseph Parker. If Wilder can’t just defeat Herndon—but dominate—few will believe he has a chance to beat Ngannou, let alone rise in the ranks to fight for another championship.

Deontay wilder

Herndon may as well be the Notorious B.I.G. in the classic song “What’s Beef?” He’ll have “nothing to lose tattooed around his wounds, everything to gain, embedded in his brain.”

Any success he enjoys against Wilder will be icing on the proverbial cake. Be on the lookout for more information on the card as we get closer to the event.

After almost over a year off Tyrell Herndon Challenged Former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder to return to the ring in June

After almost over a year off, former WBC Heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder will be returning to the ring.

Wilder (43-4-1, 42 KO’s), a Tuscaloosa native and the 2008 Olympic bronze medalist, will return against Tyrell Herndon in a 10-round bout at Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas. The fight will take place on June 27 and will be streamed on BLK Prime.

It will be his first fight since a June 1, 2024 loss to Zhilei Zhang (27-2-1, 22 KOs) in the fifth round when Zhang got Wilder to spin around and Zhang’s right hand sent Wilder to the mat.

Herndon (24-5, 15 KO’s) stands at 6-foot-3 and has weighed in around 235 pounds, which should help Wilder who has weighed in around 214 pounds for his last fight. Herndon will also be returning after considerable layoff, his last fight was a May 2024 six-round split decision win over Rudy Silvas

Deontay Wilder has suffered all four of his losses and the draw since 2018, starting with the draw to Tyson Fury. Wilder was 40-0 going into the fight. Over his last five fights, Wilder is 1-4 and has been knocked out three times.

Wilder is the former heavyweight champion using a powerful righthand to climb the ranks, first taking the belt in 2015. He would make 10 defenses of the belt before falling to Fury in their second bout.

Wilder, 39, has contemplated retirement after his last few fights and ahead of a 2022 fight with Robert Helenius he said he would fight until he was 40, which he will turn this October. Wilder has said that a statue unveiling in his hometown back in 2022 helped convince him to return for his fans.
