Manny Pacquiao Sends 5 Word Warning To Terence Crawford On Facing Canelo At Super Middleweight
Eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao has sent a stern message to Terence Crawford ahead of his mega-fight against Canelo Alvarez.
It was confirmed earlier this month that ‘Bud’ Crawford would be stepping up to challenge Canelo for the unified WBC, WBA and WBO super middleweight titles in September, with an official announcement expected in the coming weeks
The 37-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska is tasked with stepping up two whole weight divisions to face the Mexican star, who has remained undefeated at 168lbs since he made the move up from middleweight in 2018, defeating the likes of Gennady Golovkin, Caleb Plant and Jermell Charlo.
‘Pac-Man’ is the latest ex-fighter to have his say on Crawford’s monumental challenge which will undoubtedly be the toughest of his impressive tenure.
Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Pacquiao delivered a strong message to the 37-year-old American ahead of the September showdown which is expected to take place in Las Vegas – ‘It’s not easy moving up’.
“Man, it’s not easy. It’s not easy moving up to bigger weight divisions.”

If there’s one man who knows all about moving up through the weight divisions, it’s Manny Pacquiao. The 46-year-old from the Philippines captured world titles across eight divisions throughout his glittering professional career which spanned just over 25-years. ‘Pac-Man’ began his career at flyweight, before going on to become a world champion in the 154lb division when he defeated Antonio Margarito to claim the WBC crown.
‘Bud’ Crawford’s most recent triumph came last August when he stepped up to light middleweight, dethroning WBA champion Israil Madrimov in Los Angeles. After already winning the undisputed championship at super lightweight and welterweight, the 37-year-old could end up challenging Canelo for the undisputed super middleweight championship when they clash in September, as long as the 34-year-old Mexican icon can overcome IBF champion William Scull when they face eachother on May 3 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
