Bankruptcy rumors won’t leave Floyd Mayweather alone.

You see, Mayweather bragged about purchasing a 62-apartment building in Upper Manhattan for $402 million without outside investment last year but per ‘0Hot News Hip Hop’, in response to this, ‘Fiddy’ shared a clip from Fighters Corner News titled, ‘Stephen A. Smith EXPOSES Floyd Mayweather For Going BANKRUPT After $402 Million SCAM.’ “Damn Champ they caught you CAPPIN. Hahahaaha Time for another exhibition! LOL,” he wrote in the caption.
He also poked fun at Mayweather’s claims during his appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, writing, “Over a hundred buildings and 99% in New York. 😆 LOL, THAT’S CAP, CHAMP.” But no, that’s not the only thing that spread the bankruptcy rumors. Giving this tale more legitimacy, a report from Business Insider claimed there were no public property records to their knowledge in New York City linking Mayweather’s supposed purchase. Even the New York Housing Partnership suggested that they were not aware of any such deals. Later, boxing insider Rick Glasser also hinted at the legitimacy of the rumors. “Rumors of Floyd Mayweather Jr being in financial trouble is hard to shallow, but is deeply rooted I’m told. Lets hope it’s not true. It would be a real fall from grace for the former fighter known as “Money”,” he wrote on X last week.

However, retired boxer Amir Khan had a slightly different take last week. He called Floyd Mayweather arrogant and said his alleged bankruptcy was karma. But despite the mountains of alleged evidence against Mayweather’s financial ruin, the boxer seems to have shrugged off the bankruptcy rumors through his stories on Instagram. His latest story?
He shared three clips on his Instagram story, each showcasing a watch from his collection. According to reports, Mayweather bought the custom 145-carat diamond-encrusted watch worth $1.8 million to celebrate his 48th birthday in February. He acquired the watch from New York’s Pristine Jewelers, crafted by celebrity jewelers Avi Davidov and Ofir Ben Shimon. As per some reports, the watch was a gift to commemorate the launch of the pugilist’s new supplement brand Youare101.
It’s unclear whether Mayweather owns the other two watches he showcased in his Instagram story. But we wouldn’t be surprised if he did. After all, Mayweather’s most expensive watch in his collection remains the Billionaire Watch, embedded with 239 diamonds worth $18 million, and with this, he really stuck by his nickname: ‘Money’. But how did he get it?
