Carl Froch Sums Up Chris Eubank Jr Slapping Conor Benn With An Egg In Just 4 Words

Carl Froch has shared his view on the Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn press conference egging incident.

Eubank Jr and Benn met this week in Manchester for the launch press conference of their long-awaited battle, which takes place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 26

They were originally set to meet back in October 2022, before the fight fell through just days away from the event after Benn failed a drugs test.

Benn has claimed his innocence to this day, with one of the reasons stated for the possible failed test being the consumption of too many eggs. Eubank Jr clearly doesn’t agree with that assessment, and took it upon himself to smash an egg in Benn’s face during their face-off.

Former unified world champion Froch had many rivalries during his own career, the most notable being against George Groves, which culminated in a fight at Wembley Stadium where Froch knocked out Groves.

It means that ‘The Cobra’ knows first hand what it is like to have a bitter feud with an opponent, and he revealed on his Froch On Fighting YouTube channel how he’d have reacted if it had been him in Benn’s shoes.

“I’d have been fuming.”

Froch then explained the advice he may give Benn next time he sees him.

“He didn’t just get slapped round the face, he did it quite hard, he also got egged. When you get egged you’re fuming. I’d have been p**sed off. I’m going to give him advice. The first time with Groves I was fuming. You get in there and load up and make mistakes.

“You advertise your shots a little bit and make split second decisions where it’s wrong. You’ve got to be calmer. Boxing is all about discipline.

Eubank Jr and Benn are set to meet again at another press conference on Thursday, with added security expected to try and avoid a repeat of their face-off incident.

“That’s A Bad Night For You” Carl Froch Warns Anthony Joshua To Avoid The One Fight He Wants Next: “That’s A Bad Night For You”

Anthony Joshua is currently plotting one final crack at the top of heavyweight division

A good run of form for the 35-year-old Brit was ended dramatically by new IBF World Champion Daniel Dubois back in September last year.

Following Tyson Fury’s second loss to Oleksandr Usyk, Joshua’s team made it clear that they were targetting a long-awaited grudge match with ‘The Gypsy King.’ Fury’s retirement last month put paid to that, and promoter Eddie Hearn recently told Ariel Helwani that a rematch with ‘DDD’ is the target.

“The mojo’s back. He’s back in camp. He will be watching the Riyadh fight, the world heavyweight championship. Look, in his mind he wants to fight Daniel Dubois. Don’t forget, he’s a fighter. You’d never get a fighter look at the Dubois rematch and go ‘oh I won’t be taking that.’ They always want to avenge defeat. And it comes with the world heavyweight championship.”

Dubois puts his belt on the line against Joseph Parker later this month.

Speaking on Froch on Fighting about Fury’s retirement and where it leaves Joshua, ‘The Cobra’ warned ‘AJ’ off taking a second fight with his hard-hitting countryman due to the beating he took first time out.

“What next for Anthony Joshua? Cause he’s been beating the drum for the fight with Tyson Fury for a couple of weeks now … Martin Bakole? Maybe. Forget about it, I don’t think that’s gonna happen.

“[Eddie Hearn] is talking about the winner of Daniel Dubois versus Joseph Parker for AJ. AJ isn’t gonna want to fight Dubois again. AJ shouldn’t want to fight Dubois again. It’s a bad fight for him, it really is. The Parker fight’s interesting. If Parker beats Dubois, you’d probably fancy Parker in that one.”

The decision may be taken from Joshua’s hands due to the fact that Usyk, who holds almost all of the cards, has stated clearly that he himself wants to take on the winner of Dubois vs Parker for a chance to become two-time undisputed in the division.

“He Gasses Out”: Carl Froch Predicts Daniel Dubois vs Joseph Parker Heavyweight Title Fight: “He Gasses Out”

Daniel Dubois versus Joseph Parker is just a month away and Carl Froch has made his prediction for the fight.

Daniel Dubois is on a superb run that has seen him stop Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgvic and Anthony Joshua in his last three fights. In that time he became the IBF world champion and then defended his belt with great displays

As Joshua opted not to take an immediate rematch, Dubois has moved on to this fight with Parker, who is on a good run himself. He has beaten Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang in his last two outings but faces a whole different challenge in the younger, hungrier Dubois.

Speaking on Froch on Fighting, ‘The Cobra’ had plenty of praise for Parker.

“They’re good wins, that’s good form. It looks like he’s getting a second wind in his career. If Dubois can beat Parker after the wipeout job against ‘AJ’, he really has established himself as a bonafide world champion. Parker has bags of experience, he’s boxing and moving well, super fit and can move around, and he can punch a bit, and he’s tough. It’s a tough fight for both guys.”

He was then pushed for a prediction and went for ‘DDD’ by stoppage.

“I think you have to say that Daniel Dubois is a favourite. He’s such a big puncher. He does gas out, and Parker is fit and strong, but he doesn’t punch with the big boys. Dubois has the confidence of the ‘AJ’ win, if he puts the pressure on Parker and starts closing in then lands that right hand, and that right hand is crushing, the big guy beats the little guy. He probably gets him out of there.”

Dubois will be hoping to repeat his destructive ‘AJ’ display when he faces Parker, and the prize could well be a second shot at Oleksandr Usyk who beat him in August 2023, but this time for undisputed honours
