The heavyweight division is set for another thrilling chapter as Johnny Fisher and Dave Allen prepare to face off in a highly anticipated rematch on May 17, 2025, at the Copper Box Arena in London. This bout comes after their controversial first encounter in December 2024, where Fisher secured a split decision victory that left fans and pundits divided

The Controversial First Encounter

Their initial clash took place on the undercard of the Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury rematch in Riyadh. Fisher, then an undefeated prospect, was knocked down for the first time in his career by a powerful right hand from Allen in the fifth round. Despite the knockdown and sustained pressure from Allen, Fisher rallied in the later rounds. The judges awarded him a split decision victory with scores of 95-94 (twice) and 96-93 in favor of Allen. The decision was met with widespread criticism, with many believing Allen had done enough to win.

The rematch, dubbed “The Inquest,” aims to settle the debate and provide a definitive outcome between the two British heavyweights.

Fisher has quickly made a name for himself with a series of explosive knockouts, including a 36-second demolition of Alen Babić in July 2024. His resilience was tested against Allen, where he showcased grit by overcoming adversity to maintain his unbeaten record.

A seasoned veteran, Allen has shared the ring with notable names like Dillian Whyte and Luis Ortiz. His performance against Fisher demonstrated his enduring toughness and ability to challenge rising stars in the division.

“He Won’t Go Near Him” Dave Allen Names The Only Heavyweight Who Can Beat Oleksandr Usyk

Popular British heavyweight Dave Allen has revealed the one fighter that he believes can defeat Oleksandr Usyk.

The 38-year-old from Ukraine beat Tyson Fury for the second time on December 21 to retain his WBC, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles via unanimous decision and cement his status as the greatest heavyweight of his generation.

Usyk had already secured victories over Anthony Joshua, Derek Chisora and Daniel Dubois before he locked horns with ‘The Gypsy King’ for the first time last May.

Their highly anticipated showdown was contested to determine the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the ‘four belt era’. After a cagey 12-rounds, Usyk was declared the winner via split decision, which handed Fury the first defeat of his professional career.

With many fans and pundits left wondering what the Ukrainian’s next steps will be, Allen believes there is one heavyweight in particular that can become the first to defeat Usyk in what has been a glittering tenure.

Speaking on his own YouTube channel, ‘The White Rhino’ admitted he believes Agit Kabayel can defy the odds and become the first fighter to beat Usyk should the fight ever happen.

“If you asked me now to pick a heavyweight to beat Oleksandr Usyk, I would pick Kabayel. He can do a little bit of everything really. He can box, he can fight, he’d a body puncher, he’s tough, he literally has everything

The victory followed previous wins over Arslanbek Makhmudov and Frank Sanchez, all of which confirm Kabayel as a serious threat in the division.

Though is now in prime position with the WBC, Usyk is much more likely to pursue a rematch with Dubois for a chance at becoming two-time undisputed at heavyweight.
