“That’s A Bad Night For You” Carl Froch Warns Anthony Joshua To Avoid The One Fight He Wants Next: “That’s A Bad Night For You”
Anthony Joshua is currently plotting one final crack at the top of heavyweight division
A good run of form for the 35-year-old Brit was ended dramatically by new IBF World Champion Daniel Dubois back in September last year.
Following Tyson Fury’s second loss to Oleksandr Usyk, Joshua’s team made it clear that they were targetting a long-awaited grudge match with ‘The Gypsy King.’ Fury’s retirement last month put paid to that, and promoter Eddie Hearn recently told Ariel Helwani that a rematch with ‘DDD’ is the target.
“The mojo’s back. He’s back in camp. He will be watching the Riyadh fight, the world heavyweight championship. Look, in his mind he wants to fight Daniel Dubois. Don’t forget, he’s a fighter. You’d never get a fighter look at the Dubois rematch and go ‘oh I won’t be taking that.’ They always want to avenge defeat. And it comes with the world heavyweight championship.”
Dubois puts his belt on the line against Joseph Parker later this month.
Speaking on Froch on Fighting about Fury’s retirement and where it leaves Joshua, ‘The Cobra’ warned ‘AJ’ off taking a second fight with his hard-hitting countryman due to the beating he took first time out.
“What next for Anthony Joshua? Cause he’s been beating the drum for the fight with Tyson Fury for a couple of weeks now … Martin Bakole? Maybe. Forget about it, I don’t think that’s gonna happen.

“[Eddie Hearn] is talking about the winner of Daniel Dubois versus Joseph Parker for AJ. AJ isn’t gonna want to fight Dubois again. AJ shouldn’t want to fight Dubois again. It’s a bad fight for him, it really is. The Parker fight’s interesting. If Parker beats Dubois, you’d probably fancy Parker in that one.”
The decision may be taken from Joshua’s hands due to the fact that Usyk, who holds almost all of the cards, has stated clearly that he himself wants to take on the winner of Dubois vs Parker for a chance to become two-time undisputed in the division.
