The Best Undefeated KO Artist Wants Terence Crawford But Has ‘Inside Information’ That It Will Never Happen

Terence Crawford is one fighter who is never far away from the spotlight.

The 37-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska is often regarded as one of, if not the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet.

In a professional tenure than began back in 2008, Crawford has already captured world titles in four weight divisions, coupled with achieving undisputed status at super lightweight and welterweight respectively.

Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford is now preparing to face Mexican icon Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez later this year in an attempt to become a five-weight world champion, as he looks to dethrone the 34-year-old of his unified WBC, WBA and WBO titles at super middleweight.

Another fighter who has expressed an interest in a showdown with Crawford is reigning WBC ‘Interim’ super welterweigh champion Vergil Ortiz Jr, who has emerged as one of the most exciting talents in the sport.

In an interview with iFL TV, Ortiz admits he wants to fight ‘Bud’ Crawford, but reveals he does not believe it will happen after being given ‘inside information’.

“We want the fight, it’s just inside info it’s not gonna happen.”

The 26-year-old from Texas was then asked to give his thoughts on a potential battle against the winner of Jaron Ennis and Eimantas Stanionis who meet in a welterweight unification in April

“At 147 I don’t see how likely that fights gonna be, for me that ship has kinda sailed, we already said yeah and they didn’t want the fight so it’s just kinda like well what can I do? I can’t do anything.”

Ortiz successfully defended his WBC ‘Interim’ title against Israil Madrimov on February 22, outpointing the former WBA light middleweight champion over 12 rounds in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The 26-year-old now looks to be in line to face WBC and WBO light middleweight champion Sebastian Fundora in the near future, and will certainly be there waiting at 154 should Crawford decide to drop back down after his Canelo fight.
